Car: The main access from Sudney is via the F3 Freeway. The journey takes approximately two hours. Take the Newcastle exit and follow the signs to Newcastle CBD then turn right onto Hunter Street. Other major routes are the coastal Pacific Highway and the inland New England Highway from Brisbane. The Golden Highway provides easy access from western New South Wales (NSW).

Rail: Newcastle is part of the City Rail way network entered on Sydney. There are frequent return service daily. Fast country link trains connect Newcastle to Sydney, Brisbane and other country centers. See City Rail website for more details.

Air: Newcastle Airport (Williamtown) is the major regional airport and is located 25 minutes from Newcastle city center. The airport is served by QantasLink, Jetstar, Virgin, NorFolk Air and Brindabella Air and has daily flights to Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Melbourne as well as some regional NSW centers. Aeropelican, located at Belmont Airport (15 minutes south of Newcastle city center ) provides return commuter flights daily to Sydney. Daily seaplane flights from Newcastle Harbour to Sydney Harbour.
